Augusta University plans to expand its animation program to include an additional 21 faculty members in the Department of Art and Design, which will make it possible to attract about 400 more animation students in the coming years.

With an Airstream in tow, Augusta University student Wendy Burnett hit the road, and her PhD program mentor was on board with the idea from the get-go.

Augusta University, with its mission of educating students, has meant the world to Patricia Boerner for more than 50 years.

“We have to be innovative in everything that we do. Yes, we have to teach the core curriculum courses, but we have to be innovative in programming as we move ahead, and that’s going to help us stand out from the pack,” said President Brooks A. Keel.

“I definitely wanted to get some knowledge out, at least the basics, to the children, making sure that they grow up healthy with a proper lifestyle and everything. That was kind of the motivation,” said Augusta University student Vikash Ayyappan.
