Grateful patient gives back to educate and assist others with movement disorders.

“This hospital will change lives,” said Augusta University President Russell T. Keen during the grand opening of the Wellstar Columbia County Medical Center.
“There's no better place to hold this hearing than right here in Augusta. Right here at the Georgia Cyber Center on Augusta University's campus," says U.S. Rep. Rick W. Allen.
“The grandparents are so focused on taking care of these kids, and any bit of information or resource they can get, they will take it and apply it at home,” says Mike Patton.
The HUB’s annual Back-to-School Celebration helped local students prepare for the new school year with free backpacks, books and family activities.
"This is an award for #strongaugusta, an award for the community of Augusta, Georgia, and the outlying communities that have joined us," says John Ryan.
Sponsored by the College of Nursing, Augusta University colleges, departments, and community organization joined together to provide the 21st day of wellness to the workers of Costa Farms.
"I believe one of the most important things we can do as leaders is get out, listen and learn from the people and communities we serve," says AU President Russell T. Keen.
Nearly 1,800 military-connected students are part of the Augusta University community, including 870 who use military education benefits.
"We're trying to introduce them to computational thinking as a way to bring them into programming,” says Michael Nowatkowski, PhD.
"We’re providing services and information to people that they maybe wouldn't get elsewhere," says Jessica Stewart, PhD.
Students from the College of Allied Health Sciences’ Occupational Therapy program are designing and building assistive devices aimed at improving everyday life.
"I wanted to offer preventative services to the higher risk young adult populations that don’t have primary care or are uninsured,” says Lynn Glenn, PhD.
Judson “J. Ben” Deal, DMD, was presented the award by President Russell T. Keen on May 14 during the President’s Garden Party.
Martha Farmer, PhD, was a longtime faculty member who became acting president of Augusta College after Richard S. Wallace’s death in 1991 and served in that role until 1993.
“Pamplin is proud to provide a meaningful and engaging experience for the public through the Guard House Museum,” says Dean Kim Davies, PhD.
"When we walk together, we show Augusta and the CSRA that we are a multidisciplinary team – doctors, researchers, neighbors and friends – standing as one," says Al Dallas.
