
Augusta University announces 2026 Distinguished Alumni, Outstanding Young Alumni
Augusta University’s Distinguished Alumni and Outstanding Young Alumni award winners will be celebrated during Alumni Weekend.
Augusta University plans to expand its animation program to include an additional 21 faculty members in the Department of Art and Design, which will make it possible to attract about 400 more animation students in the coming years.

“This program is a prime example of turning those strengths into opportunities, giving students the chance to bring classroom learning into the real world through paid, meaningful internships right here on campus,” says Russell T. Keen.

The annual event was held Sept. 7 on the Summerville Campus.

The book is designed for current instructors of public administration, political science and social science.

It’s been nearly a decade in the making, but Centro Medico, a new clinical space, has opened its doors and will offer services to underserved populations in Augusta.

“The work our scientists do in their labs relies on the passion, determination and generosity of each team and individual who took part in PaceDay Weekend 2022,” said Jorge C. Cortes, MD, director of the Georgia Cancer Center.

Using his theater background to land acting jobs across the country, Augusta University grad C. Neil Davenport soon fell in love with writing and decided screenwriting was what he was meant to do.

Through the “4 to Finish” initiative, students are challenged to engage both inside and outside the classroom. For Vanessa Dominguez-Acosta, a senior ecology major, “4 to Finish” provided a turning point in her college career.
