Augusta University plans to expand its animation program to include an additional 21 faculty members in the Department of Art and Design, which will make it possible to attract about 400 more animation students in the coming years.

“We used to think that a good jobs report would make a good economy, and typically it does, but in the last couple of months when the jobs report was good, the market has tanked. People are reading it as the strong job market means inflation is not under control,” said Rick Franza, dean of the Hull College of Business.

“They play a different style of baseball than the traditional form, and maybe most diehard fans won’t like it, but growing the game is what it’s all about.”
