
Augusta University announces 2026 Distinguished Alumni, Outstanding Young Alumni
Augusta University’s Distinguished Alumni and Outstanding Young Alumni award winners will be celebrated during Alumni Weekend.
Augusta University plans to expand its animation program to include an additional 21 faculty members in the Department of Art and Design, which will make it possible to attract about 400 more animation students in the coming years.

“This program is a prime example of turning those strengths into opportunities, giving students the chance to bring classroom learning into the real world through paid, meaningful internships right here on campus,” says Russell T. Keen.

The annual event was held Sept. 7 on the Summerville Campus.

The book is designed for current instructors of public administration, political science and social science.

Michelle Reed, AU’s Title IX coordinator, said the event is valuable for all students, from freshmen living on campus to seniors living off campus.

“I want students to come into our center and have cross-cultural dialogues and engage in activities to help create a more inclusive campus,” said Karen Mobley, director of Multicultural Student Engagement.

In Georgia, undocumented students are banned from attending the state’s top five publicly funded universities and they cannot qualify to receive in-state tuition to the other public colleges in Georgia. Their struggle is real.

For Augusta University Master of Nursing student Franki Tawil, evacuating for hurricanes has been pretty commonplace.
