
Augusta University announces 2026 Distinguished Alumni, Outstanding Young Alumni
Augusta University’s Distinguished Alumni and Outstanding Young Alumni award winners will be celebrated during Alumni Weekend.
Augusta University plans to expand its animation program to include an additional 21 faculty members in the Department of Art and Design, which will make it possible to attract about 400 more animation students in the coming years.

“This program is a prime example of turning those strengths into opportunities, giving students the chance to bring classroom learning into the real world through paid, meaningful internships right here on campus,” says Russell T. Keen.

The annual event was held Sept. 7 on the Summerville Campus.

The book is designed for current instructors of public administration, political science and social science.

AU employs over 6,200 people, including nearly 4,300 staff and over 2,000 faculty as of August 2025.

Augusta University will now require ACT and SAT test scores for 2026-27 first-year admission.

“It’s really important to get AU students, faculty and staff involved in the community, helping with projects like Project Refresh and others,” says Ella Biddy.

“We want new faculty to know they have a place where they are supported, cared for and nurtured,” says Tiana Curry-McCoy, PhD.
