Augusta University plans to expand its animation program to include an additional 21 faculty members in the Department of Art and Design, which will make it possible to attract about 400 more animation students in the coming years.

A 50-foot-long sculpture made of granite stones on the banks of the Augusta Canal called “Stone Boat” was recently built by Augusta University art professor Brian Rust. This new public art is his salute to the historic Petersburg boats.
