“I believe these types of exhibitions exceed expectations because they are so stimulating. They include a new type of interactive media that entirely surrounds the viewer. You are more of a participant than a viewer in these situations."

New memories and connections were made at Augusta University's annual Alumni Weekend. The marathon of events, which took place April 22-24, was jam-packed with celebrations and awards.

From a pool of more than 5,000 applicants, sophomore Dipen Mehta was one of about 400 U.S. students who were awarded Goldwater scholarships for the 2022-23 academic year.
“This is probably the most bittersweet departure I'll have over my career because I'm in love with one job and I don't want to leave, but I know that the Army's asked me to do something more.”
Three AU alumni in particular — Cole Watkins, T’Shawn Carter and Amy Richardson — have flourished after graduation, using their degrees to help launch their own small businesses.
"Some employers simply don’t have a choice. If they are not recognizing the needs of their employees, they are going to have a hard time recruiting and retaining employees," said Melissa Furman.
“It is very rewarding to see them accomplish their goals and to know that I have played a small part in helping them do that," said Dr. Debra Saul.
“I try to live by the motto I’ve never asked somebody else to do a job that I’m not willing to do myself,” said Dr. Phillip Coule.
The Department of Art and Design teamed up with Augusta University alumnus Scott Hardigree to develop a class project that would allow students to design and pitch a garden sculpture.
Though many of the first women at MCG were doubted at some point, each of these graduates helped pave the way for women pursuing medical degrees today.
