Weekend in Rio; we are there

Just because the workweek is over doesn’t mean our coverage from Rio is.

Keep up with the latest from our Jags in Rio by checking in with Jagwire’s Olympics page throughout the weekend.

Our folks on the ground will continue blogging, filing stories and taking pictures the one of this sunrise – and you better believe we’ll post the results from Sunday’s marathon just as soon as we know them.

If you missed the screening at the Maxwell Theatre, check out The Extra Mile, the Augusta University-produced documentary about alumnus and volunteer assistant coach Pardon Ndhlovu’s inspiring journey from running barefoot in Zimbabwe to running the marathon at the 2016 Rio Games. It’s a great story about a great guy who continues to make us proud to be Jaguars.

We’re also fortunate to have unique access to Pardon while he’s in Rio. Find out how he feels about his Olympic experience, his feelings about the marathon and what it’s like to live in the Olympic Village.

And take a few minutes to browse “Expanding the Story,” the section of the Olympics page where Augusta University experts weigh in on everything fromlong-distance running strategies to life in the favelas to the ongoing economic crisis in Zimbabwe. We have over 20 of these stories to choose from, and all of them are fresh and interesting takes on the topics you’ve been hearing about throughout the Olympic Games.

All of this is content you can’t find anywhere else, and we want you to know we’ll keep it coming throughout the weekend. So make sure you’ve got Jagwire on your tablets and other mobile devices – Jagwire was built specifically with mobile users in mind because we want you to be able to access it anywhere.
