Update on parking and new shuttle routes

Patients and visitors have a lot on their minds when entering our hospitals and clinics. One thing that shouldn’t be a concern is finding parking to get to their appointments on time. Although there are a number of parking decks and lots across campus, on many days, finding an open parking space is a challenge.

Parking availability for patients and visitors is a top priority and the responsibility of the entire GRU and GRHealth community. As a reminder, parking is reserved only for patients and visitors in the following decks until 2 p.m. each day:

Medical Center deck on 15th Street, located on the east side of the deck, BN on this map
Medical Office Building deck on Harper Street, Levels One, Two, and Three, HC on this map
Children’s Hospital of Georgia deck on Harper Street, Level One, BK on this map

Reserved parking for patients and visitors is always available in the following areas:
The Clinical Cancer Center deck on Laney Walker Blvd., AM on this map
Lot 5, located in front of the College of Dental Medicine, #5 on this map

An additional 150 non-reserved parking spaces in lot 69 will soon be available, and new transit routes for the Health Sciences Campus will begin Jan. 26, offering more frequent and convenient service. For more information, visit: gru.edu/parking.

We thank you for your continued commitment to the health, well-being, and safety of our patients and visitors.

    • Reply to Deborah Long: Ms. Long, please tell me which route you were on (Gold, Green, Blue or Red). There shouldn’t be any route that a passenger would need to ride for 30 minutes. I would like to investigate this further. Thank you.

      • I was on the green route that had to wait in traffic to go down Walton Way to Lot 65, then back to the annex before going to Kroger. The Walton Way traffic has been eliminated for now, but will be a problem again when that lot is in use.
Also, one day last week, both green buses arrived at the hospital at the same time!! I don’t think that is supposed to happen.
        Thank you,
        Deborah Long
