Augusta University’s chapter of MEDLIFE, a nonprofit organization based in Lima, Peru, that provides free medical services, education and development to communities in need in Peru, Ecuador, Tanzania and Nicaragua, is hosting two information sessions about their third service learning trip taking place this summer.
Interested students can attend either session to find out more about the trip itinerary, including an optional three-day extension, and learn how to become a member and how to register. To go on the trip, students must sign up to be a MEDLIFE member and receive training from AU’s chapter.
The trip will take place in Lima, Peru, from May 11-19 with an optional three-day extension for an excursion to Cusco and a Machu Picchu tour.
The trip will offer students the chance to volunteer with MEDLIFE and get firsthand field experience in the work they do. Participants will have the opportunity to shadow various health care professionals, teach education workshops and work on building an infrastructural amenity for a community.
Information Sessions:
Tuesday, Feb. 5 1-2 p.m. Science Hall W1001 |
Monday, Feb. 11 2-3 p.m. Science Hall W1004 |
