Stories from the Front Lines: Rolling out COVID-19 vaccinations

Preparing to vaccinate tens of thousands (or more) in the Augusta area was no small task.

Augusta University Health director of pharmacy Dr. Joshua Wyche and his team had their work cut out for them last fall.

Wyche began work on how the vaccines would be distributed months in advance, bringing more stakeholders onto his team as time went on.

AU Health employees were the first to receive the vaccine in December, and now members of the public are being vaccinated by AU Health at several sites throughout the area. Over 43,000 have been vaccinated as of March 17.

Watch the video above to hear more from Wyche on how it all came together.
