The Ryan White Program provides free, rapid HIV testing.

Ryan White Program, Student Health to offer free HIV testing on World AIDS Day

In recent years, HIV testing has increased leading to fewer people living with undiagnosed HIV in the United States, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. However, the CDC still reports many living with the infection have had HIV for years before getting diagnosed.

In recognition of World AIDS Day, Augusta University will host free rapid HIV testing sites on both Summerville and Health Sciences campuses from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Dec. 1

Testing on the Health Sciences campus will be held in the Student Health Clinic and testing on the Summerville campus will be conducted in the Augusta University Ryan White Outreach Van in front of the Jaguar Student Activities Center.

World AIDS Day is held on Dec. 1 to unite people worldwide in the fight against HIV, show support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died.

This event is sponsored by Augusta University’s Ryan White Program and Student Health Services. For more information, call 706-721-2236
