The Employee Advisory Council is Requesting Nominations for Various Awards!
The Augusta University and Health System Employee Advisory Council is seeking nominations for the following awards:
- Clay Adamson Facilities Services Employee of the Year (University Only)
- Erie P. Blissit (University Only)
- Golden Pen (Enterprise)
- Service Excellence (Enterprise)
- Teamwork (Enterprise)
- S.P.I.R.I.T (Enterprise)
Clay Adamson Facilities Services Employee of the Year Award Information:
This award is made possible by an endowment fund established by Mr. Clay Adamson Jr. Mr. Adamson was the Director of the Medical College of Georgia Physical Plant Division which is now Facilities Services Division of Augusta University until his retirement in 1997 after 30 years of dedicated service.
Previous winners not eligible for nomination: James Baker, Richard Quarles Jr., Thomas Rogers, and Jordan Cribbs
Erie P. Blissit Award Information:
This award is made possible by an endowment fund established by James A. Blissit. Mr. Blissit was the vice president and Treasurer Emeritus of the Medical College of Georgia now Augusta University. The award is in memory of his late wife, Erie, who retired from the Medical College of Georgia after 30 years of service. Mrs. Blissit served 17 years as an administrative assistant to the president.

Golden Pen Award Information:
This award recognizes the superior writing skills of both style and clarity of presentation in one or more articles published in a professional journal or publication during the previous 12 months. Nominees should have demonstrated outstanding leadership and effort through a speaking engagement at a professional conference during the previous 12 months.
Previous winners not eligible for nomination: Dr. Jack Yu, Nhuan Nguyen, Pharm.D., and Christina DeRemer, Pharm.D., BCPS.
Service Excellence Award Information:
This award recognizes service to an academic, administrative, or clinical area. Service to the University and Health System community (example: serving on committees, staffing or organizing events or functions, and other voluntary work related activities). Daily interaction with fellow staff, students, faculty, and/or patients and families. Exemplary achievement and performance, excellence in service/personal interaction and outstanding support/initiative and creativity.
Previous winners not eligible for nomination: Dr. Alexis Rossi, Elizabeth Jones, Melissa Bold, Sandra Oglesby, and Victoria Worsham.
S.P.I.R.I.T. Award Information
The S.P.I.R.I.T. Award recognizes individuals who embody the values of Augusta University and Health System. It honors someone who consistently sets the ethical bar high in managing state resources, in their daily decision making and in the delivery of their work. Nominees should be individuals who embrace guiding principles that are for the greater good and in so doing inspire the trust of others.
New award – no previous winners.
Teamwork Award Information
This award recognizes staff that work effectively as a team to successfully accomplish a task or meet a goal. Builds effective collaborative relationships across different groups of departments within the University or Health System to define and solve problems. Creates a team environment that models communication, trust, cooperation and respect for differences. Contributes towards an effort that has significant impact on departmental or organizational goals. Develops partnerships that seek input and involvement of those impacted by decisions.
Previous winners not eligible for nomination: ED Respiratory Therapy Team and Child Care Center Staff.
