Augusta University is about to get “wild.”

The Division of Communications and Marketing is launching a podcast this spring. In the Wild is the first podcast from the university to discuss campus news and events. Topics will also cover ways for students to adjust to adult life, featuring interviews with members of the university community. The podcast will be hosted by Raysean Ricks, a university alum and writer for DCM.

“I was super excited to propose this idea for the university,” Ricks said. “Podcasting is becoming more popular every day, so I thought we could take advantage of the opportunity with all of the equipment and experts
we have on campus.”

Ricks received his degree in communication from Augusta University in 2017. While a student, he was incredibly involved on campus, serving in multiple roles within Student Life and Engagement, including graduating as the president of the undergraduate Student Government Association.

“As impactful as we plan for this podcast to be, we’re also going to have a lot of fun,” Ricks said. “I feel that I’m prepared to cover all sorts of things — in a fun way — considering my previous experiences as a student and now as an employee.”

Each episode will feature “wild” topics while also sharing
Ricks‘ personal sentiments and reflections from being a student.

“We’ve got some interesting topics and great guests planned for our first season. I can’t wait to share this project with everyone,” Ricks said.

In the Wild will premiere on Tuesday, March 3. The podcast will be available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Google Play.
