Counselor education student wins national recognition for essay

Katy Towns, a counselor education student in the College of Education at Augusta University, received Honorable Mention in the American Counseling Association’s Ross Trust Future School Counselors Essay Competition.

Towns is the first Augusta University student to receive recognition in this competition, and was one of 17 entrants to receive an honor out of the 600 students who submitted essays nationwide.

In April, Towns will travel to Atlanta for the American Counseling Association 2018 Conference and Expo to receive her award.
