Augusta University wins big at the 2018 Facilities Officers Conference

At the annual University System of Georgia’s Facilities Officer Conference, the Augusta University was presented with two awards: Innovation Award in the category of Adaptive Reuse and the Sustainability Award in the category of Historic Preservation.

The Innovation Award was for the recent completed Ceramics Warehouse Renovation, which includes new arts and physics labs including a sculpture studio, kiln room, glazing studio and welding studio. Construction took six approximately months to complete. The Sustainability Award was given for AU’s Roosevelt Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital Renovation project. The project included the renovation of the existing inpatient rehabilitation and long-term acute care rehabilitation hospital. It includes a new primary entrance to improve patient arrival experience and new lobby to increase the comfort and convenience to visitors. This project took 2 years to complete.
