Augusta University Adult Cystic Fibrosis program wins at conference

At the North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference, the Augusta University Adult Cystic Fibrosis team won the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Quality Care Award. The team was one of twenty from around the country.

The Quality Care award recognizes Cystic Fibrosis Foundation- accredited care centers that have continuously demonstrated a commitment to improving the quality of care provided to those with CF. Members of the CF Foundation Center Committee visited several care centers last spring and chose the recipient of the award. Recipients of this award have shown they met the quality improvement performance standards, like actively using clinical outcomes data to identify opportunities for improvement and employing innovative strategies to improve care processes and outcomes.

Members on the AU team include Dr. Caralee Forseen, adult program director and co-director of CF Center at the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Vasha Taskar, associate director of CF Center at the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Christopher Dresher, psychologist, Samantha Videna, nurse coordinator, Danielle Batchlor, adult CF social worker, Don Tummons, respiratory therapist and Katlyn Metz, registered dietitian.
