East Georgia, Augusta University continue partnership

Augusta University and East Georgia State College signed a new Memorandum of Understanding today to continue the cooperative academic program between the institutions. The program was approved by the University System of Georgia Board of Regents in 2013 and the first cohort of students is set to graduate from Augusta University in the spring.

As part of the partnership, EGSC students will have the opportunity to take classes on Augusta University’s Summerville campus, and following the completion of 30 credit hours in the program, those with a cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.2 or higher can opt to transfer into a bachelor’s degree program at the university.

Students will pay EGSC tuition and fees, which includes Augusta University’s mandatory and elective fees for amenities such as the University Wellness Center on campus, computer labs, campus meal plans, intramural sports, and more.

Advantages of this collaboration include affordability, better access to student services, smaller class sizes, a student-focused learning environment, experienced faculty and staff, and individualized tutoring and advisement in EGSC’s Academic Center for Excellence.
