CHOG gift shop opens

On Valentine’s Day, the newly remodeled gift shop at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia opened. Formerly called the Ferns & Fossils gift shop, the store has been renamed Re:sourxe Gifts by Sodexo.

The new gift shop will serve both CHOG and the Augusta University Medical Center.

“We are very pleased to bring Re:sourxe Gifts by Sodexo to the Children’s Hospital,” Karl Munschy, director of auxiliary services at Augusta University, said. “Re:sourxe offers more hours of service, including evening and weekend hours, a great selection of merchandise and a robust e-commerce site where items can be ordered and often delivered to a patient’s room on the same day.”

In December, Augusta University Health announced a partnership with Lori’s Gifts, a nationwide company specializing in hospital gift shop management. Lori’s Gifts will operate Re:sourxe Gifts by Sodexo, which is located on the first floor of CHOG.

Lee Ann Liska, executive vice president for health affairs and CEO of Augusta University Medical Center, said she’s excited for the new gift shop.

“I have worked with Lori’s Gifts in a number of hospitals across the country,” Liska said. “I believe that patients, families and staff at AU Medical Center and the Children’s Hospital of Georgia will be very pleased with this exciting partnership.”

Lori’s operates more than 350 gift shops in 38 states and will bring significant experience and innovative programs to AU Health.

“We appreciate our partnership with Sodexo and their ability to bring ideas and services like Re:sourxe Gifts to the table,” said Munschy.

Re:sourxe Gifts by Sodexo will be open Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Customers who place orders online are eligible to receive free same-day delivery from the gift shop to patients. Phone orders are also welcome. For more information, call 706-721-5114.
