GPBAugustaLogo_800x600Jazz Icon Wycliffe Gordon is from Augusta. From a foundation that took its form in the neighborhoods and schools of The CSRA, he has become arguably the most skillful trombone player in the world of jazz…ever. In yesterday’s edition of “Where I’m From”–a joint production of GPB Augusta and The Greater Augusta Arts Council–Gordon talked about making the leap from college to the pro’s as part of Wynton Marsalis’ band. Now, Wycliffe Gordon has set his sights on “home”. Today, he tells Brenda Durant, Executive Director of the Greater Augusta Arts Council about the role he’ll play in elevating the local music and arts scene.
