Children's Hospital of Georgia in the News 2018

What makes the Children’s Hospital a leader in pediatric care?

May 2018 marks the 20th anniversary of the Children’s Hospital of Georgia. Formerly the Medical College of Georgia‘s Children’s Medical Center, the children’s hospital first opened its doors to children in 1998. Since then, our pediatric experts have gone above and beyond to help children live their very best lives for 20 years.

This year, we’ll be celebrating with stories about the patients, families and physicians that have made the last 20 years our favorite. But what makes us unique in the region?

“Most of the hospitals in our region are really adult hospitals, and children are not little adults,” said Lee Ann Liska, CEO of Augusta University Medical Center. “Children, from the tiniest of babies to adolescents, require different levels of care and different types of equipment throughout the entire continuum of age.”
