USG employees to receive additional leave to encourage COVID-19 vaccination

To encourage unvaccinated University System of Georgia employees to schedule their COVID-19 vaccine appointment by Dec. 31 and to thank those who are already vaccinated, the USG will provide employees with eight hours of administrative leave.

This leave is in lieu of and aligns with Gov. Brian Kemp’s Vaccination Day closing of state offices Sept. 3.

To make this process as convenient as possible while maintaining service to our students and campus community, USG employees may request time off by completing the Vaccine Admin Day Request Form and submitting it to their supervisor for approval between Sept. 1 and Dec. 31. Proof of vaccination is not required to complete the form.

Augusta University’s priority is to protect the health and safety of our campus community by encouraging all of our employees to be vaccinated. If you have questions about the COVID-19 vaccine, contact your medical professional or visit the Georgia Department of Public Health’s website.
