As we reflect on all that we’ve accomplished this past year, I’m also reminded of all that lies ahead. This month we celebrate new beginnings with the opening of the M. Bert Storey Cancer Research Building and honor past traditions with a 20th birthday celebration for our Children’s Hospital of Georgia. The Augusta University volleyball team just won its first Peach Belt Tournament Championship, while our men’s cross country team posted their second best team finish ever on their third appearance at the NCAA Division II National Championships. This month, we also bid farewell to our December graduates and wish them well as they start a new chapter of their own.
The holiday season is also a time when we offer support to those in need. This month, the Children’s Hospital of Georgia will host the 18th Annual Cares for Kids Radiothon — its biggest fundraiser of the year. I encourage you to watch the video to see some of the children who have benefited from the expertise and compassionate care of our pediatric specialists and providers.
Before we head home to spend time with family and loved ones, I want to thank each and every one of you for all that you do to support our students and patients. All that we’ve accomplished this past year would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our faculty and employees. Reward yourself this holiday season and take time to spend with those you hold dear.
Thanks for another great year, Jaguar Nation!
Sincerely,
Brooks A. Keel, PhD
