WARM SPRINGS, Ga. – Roosevelt Warm Springs Rehabilitation and Specialty Hospitals kicked off the holiday season with Operation Santa’s Elves, a toy drive for needy children in Meriwether and surrounding counties.
“RWSH employees donated enough toys to fill up an SUV with no room to spare,” said Laura Stokes, Human Resources manager and toy drive organizer “Our employees are truly some of the most caring employees I’ve ever worked with.”
The drive benefited Operation Good Neighbor, a local charitable organization that helps provide food, clothing, and toys to families in need. A representative from Operation Good Neighbor said that the toy donation came at just the right time, because many of the boxes going to needy families did not include toys.
Employees who participated in the toy drive, including Cheri McDaniel, Sonal Nakrani, Chis Peters, and Susan Wilder, said they were excited to be a part of making Christmas dreams come true for children in need. Teresa Collins, an RWSH employee who volunteers frequently with Operation Good Neighbor, said that the organization is comprised of several churches in the community and serves 200-300 families each holiday season.
