Ribbon to be cut on Ronald McDonald House Thursday

On Thursday, Jan. 8, at 4 p.m. the ribbon will be cut on the new Ronald McDonald House on the Health Sciences Campus near the Children’s Hospital of Georgia.

The event is open to the public. Public parking will be available at the Alumni Center off 15th street. There will be shuttle buses running every 10 minutes. On Friday, Jan. 9, the Ronald McDonald House will host Georgia Regents/CHOG Day. All faculty and staff are invited to tour the new house at their leisure from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tours will begin every hour, on the hour. Snacks and refreshments will be served.

The GRU house is 28,500 square feet and includes more than 20 bedrooms with private baths, bedrooms, and a playroom especially for children with suppressed immune systems, a large family kitchen, and a living room for family activities.
