Reimbursement billing changes effective March 1

Facility and professional claims for reimbursement of healthcare services rendered will be billed under the new legal entity names AU Medical Center, Inc. and AU Medical Associates respectively.

Contracted insurance carriers (payers) have been notified of this change to update claims processing and authorization systems.

As of March 1, 2017, team members who routinely contact payers for eligibility, pre-certification/authorization and/or billing concerns should expect payers to recognize the respective legal entity names for the Medical Center and Medical Associates.

All Access, Precertification, Financial Quality and Billing staff, etc. are asked to report discrepancies immediately to managedcare@augusta.edu or contact Cathy Apfel and/or Fifi Hartley for assistance.
