The deadline for study abroad/study away proposals for upcoming trips is fast approaching. Proposals for study abroad and study away programs set to run Fall 2016, Spring 2017 and Summer 2017 are due to the study abroad committee no later than Apr. 1, 2016.
Faculty and staff interested in submitting proposals for a study abroad or a study away programs can find all of the necessary forms here.
Completed proposals include the completed proposal form, contact hours form, budget form, a course syllabus for each course associated with the program and an itinerary. Please remember that both new and reoccurring programs need to be submitted in this format.
Please also note that study abroad proposals are for credit-bearing and clinical experiences outside of the United States, while study away proposals are for credit-bearing experiences within the U.S.
Conversations about these proposals should begin in your department, as they will require signatures from your department chair, appropriate department committees and your respective dean’s office before coming to the study abroad committee. The Study Abroad office is available to help should you have additional questions.
For those interested in teaching on the European Council Programs (Paris, London, Waterford, St. Petersburg, Madrid, Scotland or Berlin), those applications can be found here.
For consideration to teach on a 2017 program, these completed applications are due to the European Council on March 24. 2016. These applications also require signatures from your department chair, dean as well as the vice president of Faculty and Academic Affairs.
Update on Individual Student Travel for Credit or Clinical Hours:
For students traveling outside of the US: Any student seeking an opportunity to participate in an international experience related to academic coursework or clinical hours must complete the “Student Preliminary Application for Individual Travel” at least three months prior to travel and submit it to the Study Abroad Office. In order for the student’s travel and work abroad to be approved, this paperwork must be completed before the student travels. For more information, click here.
