The 15th Street, Medical Office Building and Children’s Hospital of Georgia parking decks are scheduled to be power washed and re-striped over the next seven weeks. The work necessitates temporary diversions of people who park in those decks, as crews will be working 24/7. Parking staff will be available to redirect patient and family parking if those spaces are affected during the project.
Re-striping includes standardizing the parking space width.
Please observe all barricades while work is ongoing.
CHOG Deck
The CHOG deck work started May 17 and will continue through May 20, during hours that lead to no interruptions of parking.
The second and third floors of the deck will be completely closed off May 21-22, and portions will be reopened starting Monday, May 23 to minimize any inconvenience.
The first floor will need to be closed at some point during May 24-27, with patient parking rerouted to the second floor.
If you are assigned to park in this deck, you are asked to find alternative parking during this timeframe to allow the patients and visitors a place to park.
15th Street Deck
Once work is complete on the CHOG deck (around May 27), work will begin on the 15th Street deck and last approximately two weeks.
The 15th Street employee side will be completely shut down starting at 5 p.m. on May 27, lasting until May 29. During this time, crews will be cleaning the bottom three floors of the deck to minimize the impact on those with reserved spots.
Starting on May 30, the top three floors of the employee side will be closed down until June 1.
The 15th Street visitor side will be completely shut down starting at 5 p.m. on June 3, lasting until June 5. Just as with the employee side, the bottom three floors will be cleaned during this time to minimize impact.
Starting on June 6-9, the top floors of the patient side will be closed for work.
*Visitors will be allowed to park in unreserved spots on the employee side temporarily while work is done on that side.
MOB Deck
After 5 p.m. on June 10, the MOB deck will be closed until June 12 to allow crews to clean the bottom floors of the deck.
Beginning on June 13 and lasting until June 15, the top three levels of the deck will be closed for cleaning.
The deck will again be closed after 5 p.m. on June 24 and lasting until June 26 to allow crews the opportunity to clean and re-stripe the center levels of the deck.
If work should occur during the week, only one side of the vehicle lanes through the deck will be closed at a time.
Alternate Parking When Decks Are Closed
Employees are directed to park in the MOB deck when parking spaces are closed for power washing and re-striping.
Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during this time.
The schedule may be altered as the work progresses should any unforeseen issues arise. If that occurs, notifications will be sent out alerting you.
