Learn the perks of getting vaccinated at Augusta University

Infectious disease experts continue to recommend vaccination to protect against COVID-19, including the Delta variant. There are numerous benefits to receiving the vaccine that far outweigh any risk. Where do you want to spend the end of summer? If it is not in the ICU, the best option we have to fight and control COVID-19 is vaccination.

Augusta University has worked to address vaccine hesitancy and battle misconceptions and myths related to the vaccine. But we still need more of Jaguar Nation to be vaccinated to get back to the campus we’re accustomed to experiencing.

As Augusta University President Brooks A. Keel, PhD, said in a recent town hall, “I don’t know how else to say this, but if it would make a difference, I would get on my knees right now and beg,” Keel said. “Please, please get vaccinated. Please get vaccinated. I don’t know how else to say it than that. That is the only way we’re going to get beyond COVID-19.”

This fall, while supplies last, the university will be offering incentives for students, faculty and staff who take advantage of upcoming vaccination clinics. Get your shot and be entered for the opportunity to win gift cards valued at $25, $50 or $100.

Prizes are non-transferable. Individuals who accept a prize agree to allow their name and/or likeness to be used to publicly announce their prize status.

Augusta University is offering vaccine clinics on campus for faculty, students and staff Aug. 25, 26 and 31. If you haven’t done so yet, make your appointment today.

Continue to stay updated with the latest news and updates and let’s keep Jaguar Nation’s health and safety a priority.
