If you’re thinking of starting the “military diet,” you might want to read this first.

Andy Yurechko, a registered dietitian at Augusta University, lent his expertise to Insider as they covered the new “military diet.”

Yurechko describes the diet as a low calorie, low carbohydrate, moderate protein and moderate fat regimen that is observed for only three days out of the week.

The kicker?

While there might not be any off-limits foods, you’re only allowed 1,500 calories the remaining four days.
