Representatives of Dentsu Health, a firm with a global network of 2,000 health marketing experts, will network with students on the Summerville Campus of Augusta University, and then present “Renaissance of Human Care: The Longing For Lost Interactions” by the firm’s global head of strategy, Kent Groves, PhD.
The business showcase and lecture will be from 4-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11 in the Dr. Roscoe Williams Ballroom in the Jaguar Student Activities Center.
Dentsu Health was created in 2021 from the existing health care marketing elements of parent company Dentsu. Its experts specialize in health, wellness and pharmaceutical marketing.
Groves is a 10-year veteran from Merkle, a Dentsu company, who has 20 years of experience in the global health business. Groves has worked with clients in the pharmaceutical, health care and animal health verticals including AbbVie, Sanofi, Seattle Genetics, and Boehringer Ingelheim, focusing on engagement, communication and CRM strategy in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Australasia.
Groves’s lecture will address consumer attitudes toward the tech enablement of the care journey and a new outlook on how different players in the health ecosystem need to show up to transform care by enriching consumers’ lives.
“We’ve lost sight of care: care of ourselves, care of our loved ones and friends, the care that we receive and the real care that we need. Two years since the pandemic outbreak, we keep hearing about the acceleration of tech adoption in health care. However, our new outlook on care cannot be limited to a broader set of services and devices,” Groves said.
He has a PhD in pharmaceutical strategy and policy from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and holds the position of assistant professor in clinical pharmacy at the James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy, University of Cincinnati.
The showcase portion of the event will be from 4-5:30 p.m., involving a panel of Dentsu Health representatives. The lecture will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Augusta University’s Hull College of Business hosts multiple companies each semester as part of its Business Showcase Series, which serves as an opportunity for companies to introduce their industry, culture and opportunities to students and then network with them.
