Gaskins appointed as representative to UN Economic and Social Council

Laverne Gaskins, senior legal advisor in the Office of Legal Affairs, has been appointed as an American Bar Association representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

Established by the UN Charter in 1945 as one of the six main arms of the United Nations, the ECOSOC promotes sustainable development.

Last year, Gaskins participated in the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law, where she was able to promote Augusta University.

Gaskins joined Augusta University in August 2015.
