When a child is diagnosed with cancer, it can be a parent’s worst nightmare.

Though cancer in children is rare, with just below 10,500 children under age 15 diagnosed in 2016, according to the American Cancer Society, it still one of the most difficult challenges a family will ever face. Besides the physical danger for the child, there is an emotional toll on the family, as well as a financial strain.
