Four students awarded scholarship to attend cybersecurity conference

School of Computer and Cyber Sciences students Leigh Alford, Ebony Hicks, Toryana Jones and Dawn Kimura received the Women in Cybersecurity scholarship!

Launched in 2013, Women in Cyber Security (WiCyS) has worked tirelessly to bring awareness and understanding about the nature of a cybersecurity career. While male-dominated, WiCyS works to “recruit, retain and advance women in cybersecurity.”

The award of this scholarship allows for students to attend the annual WiCyS Conference, where the students lodging and conference registration fees were covered as scholarship recipients. This year’s conference focused on “The Strength of Diversity” in the field of cybersecurity.
