Fodor’s ranks Augusta’s “Main Street” one of America’s prettiest

Fodor’s, the widely known publisher of English-language travel and tourist information guides, recently ranked Augusta the 9th Cutest Main Street in a Small(er) City in the United States.

Writer Barbara Noe Kennedy touted the city’s revitalization efforts in the 90s and city-wide collaboration with local artists as part of the reason for Augusta’s recent renewal. In addition to highlighting the slew of new restaurants, lofts and businesses opening downtown, Kennedy also cited four Augusta staples as examples of Augusta’s charm. Those include restaurants Craft & Vine and Nacho Mama’s as well as local bars and music venues Sky City and Soul Bar.

The Augusta Museum of History and James Brown State also got a nod from Kennedy.
