DCG graduate’s ‘ultimate gift of working with her father’ closer to reality

Colleges will be assigned to a morning, afternoon or evening session.

Commencement will be held at James Brown Arena, located in downtown Augusta. There will be three 90-minute sessions to accommodate appropriate social distancing and observe other COVID-19 precautions.
10 a.m.: College of Nursing; School of Computer and Cyber Sciences; Biomedical Biostatistics PhD
2 p.m.: College of Allied Health; James M. Hull College of Business; College of Science and Mathematics 6 p.m.: Katherine Reese Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences; College of EducationPlease arrive 45 minutes before your ceremony. Graduates should meet at the 8th Street Service Ramp entrance. Masks will be provided at check in. Augusta University has worked closely with the James Brown Arena to ensure a safe, socially distanced event. Please note the plan is subject to change. In the event of a cancellation, you will be notified about plans for a virtual ceremony.
Due to safety concerns, no guests or media will be allowed inside for the ceremonies. Only participating graduates will be allowed inside James Brown Arena at their designated ceremony time. All safety protocols must be followed by participants. Supporters are welcome to watch the ceremonies via live webcast at augusta.edu/ stream.
Students will check in and be directed to their seats, spaced six feet from one another. Students' names will be called as they cross the platform, pick up their diploma tube and pause for a (distanced) photo with President Keel.

Undergraduate students should order regalia via Josten’s. Undergraduate regalia will be shipped to your address.
Graduate students who need regalia should use the order form. The deadline to request graduate regalia is also Nov. 11. Graduate students who did not order directly from Josten’s will need to pick up and purchase regalia on campus beginning Nov. 23.
Undergraduate students graduating with honors will be contacted by the Registrar’s Office. Qualifying students may pick up their undergraduate honor cords from the Registrar’s Office beginning Nov. 16.

The remarks to the AU graduating class will be given by Dejah Johnson, Master of Science in Nursing candidate, Clinical Nurse Leader program from Loganville, Georgia, and Jenelle (Jenny) Marie Smeragliuolo, a Spring 2020 Bachelor of Science graduate in Dental Hygiene from Cumming, Georgia.
If you participated in Virtual Commencement, are you allowed to participate in December? Yes! We encourage students to participate in both!
Will be there enough room? Yes, there will be room for our spring, summer, and fall graduates. We will follow the guidelines for social distancing.

More than 900 students participated in ceremonies honoring undergraduate and graduate students for Augusta University’s fall 2023 hooding and commencement ceremonies, held Dec. 13-14 at the Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center.
For Briana Campbell, a cybersecurity major graduating from Augusta University’s School of Computer and Cyber Sciences, her experience at AU has been about strategically surrounding herself with people who can help her succeed by approaching each organization and class as a pool of knowledge and less a competition.
