Dr. May elected as 2018 chair of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology

Dr. Kathleen May, division chief and associate professor of Pediatrics, Division of Allergy, Immunology and Pediatric Rheumatology, was recently elected as the 2018 chair of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI).

The ABAI is a conjoint board of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics that works to “improve the quality of medical care by the development and utilization of professional and educational standards for the initial certification and Maintenance of Certification of physician specialists in allergy/immunology,” as stated in their mission.

“It is a great honor and privilege to serve as national chair,” May said. “And this does bring significant recognition to Augusta University.”

Congratulations Dr. May!

An earlier headline stated Dr. May was the chair of the American Board of Medical Specialties, this was a mistake. Dr. May was elected as chair of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.
