“It’s exciting to see more students and faculty engaging in research and contributing to important discussions in the field," says Steven Page, EdD.
The second annual Culture Fest brought students together to celebrate the AU community through food, music, performances and student organizations.
"The competition supports building a community of thinkers who elevate one another,” says Lynsey Steinberg.
“Tri-Alpha benefits everyone as a whole, especially by honoring the first people to do such a great achievement,” says Keisha Pettis-Gilmore.
"It’s always special to be with our students to find out what the next steps in their journeys to becoming a physician will be,” says MCG Dean David Hess, MD.
"We are a research-intensive university, and it's reflected in the work that our students are doing," says Interim Provost and Dean of The Graduate School Jennifer Sullivan, PhD.
“The Jaguar Job Fair is a great way to get educated about what employers are looking for,” says Julie Goley.
"I want to figure out how the alumni group can help you and how we can represent Augusta University in as many places as we can," says Shena Gazaway, PhD.
"It’s fulfilling to feel like a vital piece of the puzzle, making a difference as a nurse, officer and leader," says Cristina McCray Lukas.
Amalia Brawley, MD, is Augusta University's first fellow in the Medical College of Georgia and Wellstar MCG Health’s new three-year Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship program.
"We are harnessing our established strengths in a scientific area, in a spot in the country I think we have a real potential to be impactful," says Jennifer Sullivan, PhD.
"Regardless of how many times you hear 'Congratulations!' or 'We regret to inform you,' wherever you are is where you're meant to be," says Eboni Watts.
"Going through this program, you will change fundamentally as a person and you have to be ready for that," says Leila Mohammadizadeh.
“Being from Augusta and because my mom and grandmother went to AU, it was a no-brainer for me to go there,” says Elise Frails.
"What I went through was hard, but I stuck with it, and it means a lot to me that I am an example to my kids and grandkids that saw me do it," says Jerome McFadden.
The Graduate Hooding and Commencement Ceremony will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, and the Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12.
"It is such a joy to have COEHD alumni representing our two largest school systems as their District Teacher of the Year,” says Judi Wilson, PhD.
“Events like these bring light to first-gen students, and just the fact that it’s a whole day where we can go and celebrate together is just a joy,” says Mikelle Smith.
“He’s the best worker. He’s on the Mount Rushmore of those I’ve coached,” says Dip Metress.
“It was really cool to see the space I had just created artwork for,” says Gabby Harris.
