Augusta University students, faculty and staff can savor the flavors that fuel this city by enjoying the discounts offered by several local coffee shops with the JagPerks program.
Angela Canada, a principal culinary team leader for Chick-fil-A Corporate, will be the keynote speaker at AU’s Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony on Dec. 12.
Ralph D. Turner, DBA, president of Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center, will be the keynote speaker at AU’s Graduate Hooding and Commencement Ceremony on Dec. 11.
“We have worked really hard to create a safe and welcoming environment for all students," says Simone Hicks, PhD.
Several locally-owned shops in the Augusta area offer discounts that the Augusta University community can enjoy, not only during the holidays but also year-round.
“If teaching is where their heart is, we want to show them the possibilities,” says Kim Barker, PhD.
“It definitely feels good because I've been waiting to see if I got accepted for what feels like a while now,” says Brayden Pringle.
"It ties together everything we are focused on as family nurse practitioners like disease prevention and health promotion,” says Abigail Grandin.
“It’s not just on Veterans Day that we should say those five words, ‘Thank you for your service,’” says AU President Russell T. Keen.
“It was really cool to see the space I had just created artwork for,” says Gabby Harris.
JagPerks offers members of the AU community discounts at certain area businesses providing a wide range of shopping, services, entertainment, food and more.
“A club like this is essential to introducing girls at a young age to these topics because it will increase their confidence,” says Michael Nowatkowski, PhD.
“The experience at Augusta University was transformative, and I didn’t even recognize it at the time,” says Gary Dennis.
"In a lot of ways, talking about it all felt healing to most people," says AU alumnus Bryce Massey.
“It’s not on our best days that hackers or scammers are going to be reaching out and trying to take advantage of you. It’s going to be on our worst day," says Russel Parham.
Former Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal discussed the inspiration behind his first children’s book, “Veto, The Governor’s Cat," that he wrote in of honor his late wife, Sandra Deal, who championed literacy throughout her lifetime.
