"I’m one person doing one thing, and it’s just one piece of the puzzle,” said Rebecca Berger.
“It’s so satisfying because these are lessons that they need. You see the light bulb come on, and it’s such a blessing," said Stacy Roberts, DBA.
“I have a better understanding of the path I need to take in order to do something in this field,” said Matthew Nichols.
“Our campus is part of the community. We are not an island and it’s important that we build strong, collaborative, lasting and meaningful relationships."
“This award recognizes how we’re linking all of these institutions together to work together for the community, because that’s what’s rare."
“Healthy eating habits have that direct impact on health, not only for moms but families," said Jennifer Plueger.

The outdoor pops-style concert was organized as a tribute to Augusta University President Brooks A. Keel, PhD, who will retire at the end of June.
“Danila has been a true champion for service and for our program,” said Erin Boyleston, program director of dental hygiene.
“One of our goals at the center is to get people in touch with the cultural assets, and this is really a prime example."
“This funding is essential for patients whose insurance does not cover this,” said Amanda Reiter, an outpatient oncology dietitian at the GCC.
“I think my biggest takeaway is how important it is to always treat people as people no matter what the situation is," said Madie Perreault.
"I told them, ‘We just want you. We want to focus on you and give you all the attention,'" said Mike Patton, Healthy Grandparents Program coordinator.
Local graphic designer and illustrator Jason Craig will hold an opening reception and artist talk for his solo show entitled, "Over the Line,” from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 4 at the Mary S. Byrd Gallery of Art.
“I just look at Augusta University as an example of how things should be growing and improving and getting better. The influence that AU has is very impressive, and I'm just glad to be a part of it."
“There’s always the idea of wanting to do something that’s impactful, but then to be able to help other people do that same thing, recreate the model, is so powerful."
Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute)" will be performed by the Augusta University Opera Initiative, under the direction of Díana Thompson-Brewer, DMA, on Friday, March 22, and Saturday, March 23, at the Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre.
Communications and Marketing will be hosting “Mingle at the Mural” on Monday, March 18 from noon until 1:30 p.m. at 1030 Reynolds St. to celebrate the new downtown mural created by Augusta University students, faculty and staff.
Augusta University’s Department of Kinesiology is helping prepare local firefighters for the physical demands of their stressful jobs.
"It is a wonderful event where children can take home up to 10 free books. Last year, we had about 4,000 books donated," said Betsy VanDeusen, PhD, director of the Dr. Paulette P. Harris Literacy Center at Augusta University.
