Balas presents award to Nobel Laureate

Dr. Andrew Balas, professor of Public Health and Health Management, vice president of the Friends of the NIH National Library of Medicine and chair of its Science Award Committee, recently presented the FNLM Medical Science Award to Nobel Laureate Dr. Robert J. Lefkowitz.

Dr. Lefkowitz is an investigator with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, as well as the James P. Duke Professor of Medicine at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Balas presented Dr. Lefkowitz with the FNLM Medical Science Award at the conclusion of the Annual Awards Gala titled “Celebrating Leadership in Public Health and Medicine” in Washington D.C.
