Augusta University named a finalist for NCAA Excellence Award

Augusta University was named the second place finalist and winner of $1,250 for the NCAA 2016 Division II Award of Excellence. The award recognizes projects that embody Division II attributes which include: learning, sportsmanship, passion and service.

Augusta was recognized for its activities during military appreciation week, also known as JAGMAW. The week’s activities included game day recognition of 1,000 active-duty soldiers who are stationed at Fort Gordon as well as a swearing-in ceremony for new recruits. All nine Augusta University colleges and schools participated.

The award was presented during the Division II Business Session at the 2016 NCAA Convention in San Antonio.
