AU celebrates 2019 National Hospital Week with raffles, giveways and more

May 12-18 is National Hospital Week and Augusta University Health is joining the American Hospital Association in the celebration of hope and healing, and those who help support the health and well-being of their communities.

Augusta University will have events taking place throughout the week to say thank you to all who work in the hospital and health system.

Beginning Monday, May 13, departmental photos will be taken from 9 a.m. to noon for the Medical Office Building (MOB), the Children’s Hospital of Georgia Operating Room and first- and second-floor departments of the main hospital. Photos for departments on the third through eighth floors of Children’s and the AUMC will be taken Thursday, May 16, from 1-4:30 p.m.

Similar to last year, a representative will be visiting the different departments to take some photos of individuals throughout the health system, and props will be available. Participants will also have the opportunity to play trivia while getting their pictures taken and win tickets to the GreenJacket’s game Thursday, May 16.

Other festivities include a raffle drawing, leadership “Gratitude Rounds,” an employee gift giveaway and more!

Monday, May 13:

• MOB, Children’s OR and first-second floor departmental photos 9 a.m.–noon.
• Play trivia during photos for your chance to win tickets the GreenJacket’s game on either Tuesday, May 14, or Thursday, May 16!

Tuesday, May 14:

• Third through eighth floors AUMC and Children’s departmental photos 1-4:30 p.m.
• Play trivia during photos for your chance to win tickets the GreenJacket’s game on either Tuesday, May 14, or Thursday, May 16!
• Leadership “Gratitude Rounds” at 10 a.m., 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. when leaders will visit all areas of the medical center delivering a treat! These rounds will be coordinated through Patient and Family Centered Care with a schedule and process.
• Night at the ballpark: Those not receiving the free tickets can purchase tickets at a discount rate online.

Wednesday, May 15:

• Employee gift giveaway in the Auditoria Center lobby (BC). Department representatives can pick up the gift giveaways from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the lobby.

Thursday, May 16:

• Raffle drawing (no need to be present — calls will be made to the winners)
• Night at the ballpark: Those not receiving the free tickets can purchase tickets at a discount rate online.

Friday, May 17:

• A hot dog cookout from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the BC Plaza, the outdoor space with the covered picnic tables, with food available for pickup in the Auditoria Center lobby.

This week is an opportunity to thank dedicated physicians, nurses, volunteers and more for their contributions to Augusta University, the Augusta community and anyone whose lives have been impacted.
