Musical premiering at the Maxwell Theatre is as Augusta University as it gets

Augusta University’s Maxwell Theatre will host the world premiere of Here to Get My Baby Out of Jail, a musical by Distinguished Alum Mark Swanson and professor Doug Joiner.

Based on the novel by Louise Shivers, who was writer in residence at Augusta University for over 25 years, the production is directed by Joiner and features several current and former students.

Performances are Thursday, Jan. 24; Friday, Jan. 25 and Saturday, Jan. 26 at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $5 for faculty and staff, $7 for alumni and $10 for the general public. Augusta University and East Georgia State College students are free with a valid JagCard.
