At least $1 of every DQ Blizzard sold on Aug. 2 will benefit Children's Hospital of Georgia.

Cool off RIGHT NOW with a DQ Blizzard during Miracle Treat Day

It’s hot outside! Cool off Thursday with a DQ Blizzard during Miracle Treat Day

In the fall of 2015, the Children’s Hospital of Georgia opened a new pediatric imaging suite with all the bells and whistles to attract children, while providing state-of-the-art radiology devices to diagnose and treat their illnesses.

However, there is just one more equipment package that doctors say will truly complete the award-winning project – a PET/CT center. This special equipment combination provides essential and precise information about the location, shape and size of areas inside the body so that doctors can more quickly and accurately diagnose various health conditions and provide appropriate treatment.

You can help fund this imaging equipment for the children who need it by purchasing a Blizzard at participating DQ stores on Aug. 2 – Miracle Treat Day. At least $1 of the proceeds from every Blizzard sold on Miracle Treat Day will go to the Children’s Hospital of Georgia, the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

“Obviously every dollar counts when you’re trying to raise the money for such a valuable piece of equipment,” said Catherine Stewart, associate director of Development for Children’s. “Local employers and staff may want to take advantage of the opportunity to place advance group orders with DQ to cool off during these dog days of summer.

Businesses interested in group pre-orders should contact Stewart via email  or by phone at 706-721-4004.

Children’s Hospital teams will sell Blizzards from:

  • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Terrace Dining
  • 2-4 p.m. in the Children’s Hospital lobby
  • Blizzards are $5 each while supplies last.

Participating Augusta DQ locations that support Children’s Hospital of Georgia are:

  • 2837 Central Ave.
  • 3149 Washington Road
  • 4099 Jimmie Dyess Parkway
  • 3102 Peach Orchard Road

Additional participating DQ locations across the CSRA include:

  • North Augusta: 1051 Edgefield Road
  • Grovetown: 5143 Bluegrass Trail
  • Louisville: 205 US Highway 1 BYP
  • Millen: 1234 US Hwy 25 N
  • Swainsboro: 391 S. Main Street
  • Thompson: 1850 Washington Road
  • Waynesboro: 221 S. Liberty Street

Area DQ stores raised $30,000 for the not-for-profit Children’s Hospital of Georgia through Blizzard sales in 2017.
