Deaf toddler hears mother’s voice for the first time

Two-year-old Kyse Sims heard his mother’s voice for the first time Oct. 5 after a double cochlear implant surgery at Augusta University. He is the first patient in the area to receive the gift of sound in both ears at once. Doctors hope Kyse’s story inspires other parents of children with hearing lost.
