People meeting virtually and in person

Zoom now available for Augusta University

The Division of Information Technology is excited to announce that Augusta University is launching Zoom as an additional option for web conferencing. Many faculty, staff, and students have expressed a strong interest in the Zoom web conferencing platform, and IT is happy to deliver.

Zoom offers communications software that combines video conferencing, online meetings, and mobile collaboration. It is easy to use and should prove an effective way to communicate.

Zoom can help engage students, faculty and staff for learning, collaboration and administration. Zoom allows users to teach and learn from anywhere by delivering online and hybrid learning opportunities to increase student engagement through impactful virtual experiences. In addition, Zoom enables users to connect and work from virtually anywhere, both inside and outside the classroom.

Notes to remember:
  • Microsoft Teams is still an available option for communication collaboration.
  • Zoom should not be used for the transmission of patient data or any clinical needs.
  • Accounts will only be available to AU students, faculty and staff.
