Women’s Tennis Ranked No. 48 In Nation

The GRU Augusta women’s tennis team has earned a No. 48 national ranking in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s list of the top 50, released Wednesday, March 25.

The Jaguars have won six-consecutive matches to improve to 12-2 overall and 5-2 in the Peach Belt Conference. They are a perfect 6-0 at home in Newman Tennis Center and are 6-2 when traveling on the road.

Sophomore Monica Gonzalez is 10-5 overall and 9-5 in the number one singles slot for GRU (2-0 in number two singles). Maria Cecilia Pimentel is 12-1 on the year, going 10-1 at number four singles and 2-0 in number two, while freshman Amelia Pinoargote is 11-1 in her rookie season for singles.
