Russell Joel Brown is from Augusta. He’s enjoyed a lengthy career as a Broadway stage actor, appearing in productions like “Smokey Joe’s Café” and “The Lion King.” In this chapter of the Augusta Listening Project – a joint venture between GPB-Augusta and the Greater Augusta Arts Council – we’re hearing the stories of people who launched remarkably successful careers in the arts from a foundation that took its form in neighborhood schools, churches, and organizations here in Augusta. Russell Joel Brown sat down with Brenda Durant of the Greater Augusta Arts Council in the music classroom at Episcopal Day School.
